Some Forest Education Initiative groups still exist in Scotland - try putting 'FEI' then your local authority into a search engine.
Forest School research
There is lots out there - all done for different reasons and purposes. The quality varies hugely in scientific validity, so do look at the studies with a critical eye! Think about things such as; sample size, longevity of study; whether or not they were comparing with a control group etc.
